Singapura, oh Singapura! (My Singapore Tour) DAY 5: UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE

It’s my fifth day here in Singapore!

From our Pasir Ris beach tour and mom's birthday dinner celebration yesterday, we headed to another exciting adventure today at UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE!
Picture at the iconic Universal Studios Globe
The Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is a 20-hectare Hollywood theme park loaded with thrilling rides and other unique attractions based on blockbuster movie hits. The young and young at heart is sure to enjoy a dazzling and mesmerizing entertainment experience that brings the silver screen to life.
The USS Entrance Archway
The USS is divided into seven main zones: Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar. Each zone has distinct rides and attractions that you wouldn't dare miss!

THE HOLLYWOOD ZONE (with special character appearances)
As the name suggests, Hollywood Zone is a replica of the Hollywood Boulevard and serves as the main entrance area of USS. Its main attraction is a Broadway-style theater where guests can watch live performances. There are also special character appearances which include: Po of Kung Fu Panda, Betty Boop, Marilyn Monroe, Woody and Winnie Woodpecker, Frankenstein's monster, among others. You can pose a picture with them but the slots are limited (so you have to keep an eye on them! HAHA).

THE NEW YORK ZONE (with Sesame Street characters)
New York Zone is a post-modern look of New York City. Its main structural attraction is the replica of the famous New York Library, where special appearances of Sesame Street characters take place.

Lights, Camera, Action! is one of the shows you shouldn't miss in
New York City Zone. Hosted by Steven Spielberg, the show is set in a
sound stage that uses special effects that mimics a hurricane about
 to hit New York City.
SCI-FI CITY (home to the most thrilling roller coaster rides I’ve experienced so far: Battlestar Galactica and Transformers: The Ride)

Transformers: The Ride
Uses a high-tech ride-vehicle technology with a giant wrap-around screen that uses 3D-HD video imagery creating a real-life battle with Transformers. Additional effects such as water spray, wind, fog, and hot air make it a heart-thumping and fun ride!

Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN and CYLON
Brace yourself with the most gripping roller coaster rides ever! The Battlestar Gallactica: Human is a sit-down roller coaster that operates at a very high speed without inversion. The Battlestar Gallactica: Cylon is a suspended roller coaster (yes, your feet are literally swaying in the air) that operates at a very high speed with intense maneuvers. "Buwis buhay" would be the apt term to describe the two rides. HAHA.

ANCIENT EGYPT (The Revenge of The Mummy: a very heart-thumping roller coaster ride)
This zone is a depiction of Ancient Egypt characterized by sophisticated obelisks, pyramids, and huge statues. One of its main attractions is the Revenge of The Mummy, a high-speed roller coaster ride inside a partially lighted complex. Its sharp turns and fast reverse sections will leave you screaming! (just like me. HAHA)

THE LOST WORLD (Jurassic Park Rapids, The Waterworld Arena)
The Lost World is divided into two sub-areas: Jurassic Park and Waterworld. The Jurassic Park features the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, a water raft adventure that takes you within the Jurassic compound (note: beware of sudden water splashes). The Waterworld, on the other hand, features a live show performance based on the film where it was named (note: make sure you have extra clothes when you choose to sit in front of the stadium. haha).

FAR, FAR AWAY (Shrek’s Swamp, Shrek 4-D Adventure)
Far Far Away is inspired by Dreamworks Animation's blockbuster hit Shrek, taking you into the magical world of fairy tales. The main highlight of the zone is the Far Far Away Castle where Shrek 4-D Adventure show is being held.
Welcome to Far Far Away!

MADAGASCAR (A Crate Adventure)
The zone is inspired by another Dreamworks Animation hit film of the same name taking you into a jungle experience with appearances of well-loved zoo animal characters like: Alex, Gloria, King Julien, and the Penguin gang.
